Rathmullan Beach
A beautiful sandy beach perfect for all the family. It also boasts a well equipped play park for those younger guests!

Alcorns Tropical World and Garden Centre
Can be found along the main road to Letterkenny, this lovely spot has lots to see, do, eat and buy! It has a fabulous Garden centre with a pretty little café. There is also a lovely small animal zoo and butterfly garden great for all ages with a play area for those younger folk. Definitely worth a look!

Arena 7
A great place for a wet day, this boasts and indoor bowling alley, lazer world, childrens soft play area and also a great restaurant! It is located on the entrance to Letterkenny on the left hand side (from Ramelton).

Century Cinemas and Play Area
Also a great place for those rainy days! This spot has a great cinema with all the lastest films aswell as a ‘kids club’ day for a cheaper option. Films can be prebook online at www.centurycinemas.ie to take the hassle out of late arrival! It also boasts a soft play area and a spacious restaurant! This is located in Letterkenny at the far side of town.

Lurgybrack Open Farm
This is a fabulous day out for all the family! Lots to see and do! There is lots of farm animals and small pets to be seen, petted, fed and also some ponies to ride. It boasts both indoor and outdoor play areas, a tire slide, tractor rides and much more! You have the option of bringing a picnic or grabbing some food in their onsite café for a stress free lunch. This is located on the ballybofey road ( the last exit off the ‘dry arch roundabout’)

Glenveagh National Park
A real treat with beautiful walks and stunning scenery overlooking a quite lake. Take a walk around the old Glenveagh Castle and stop off in the café for a cuppa before walking/taking the bus back to the carpark! One of my personal favourites and an inexpensive day out! The Glebe House and Gallery
This is such a lovely picturesque place to see. There is a beautiful gallery and lovely walks around the house and also a lovely coffee shop with homemade treats – worth stopping in!

Oakfield Park, Raphoe
A very unique house and gardens open to the public through the summer months and for specific times of the year (including the famous Christmas adventure and ‘oakfest’ music festival) This place has a fabulous little train which takes you on a tour around the lovely gardens. Set around a lovely lake with a newly opened restaurant on site also.

Fanad Lighthouse
If you would like a trip round a picturesque lighthouse, this is the place for you! With stunning scenery all around!

Ramelton Country Market, Town hall Ramelton
Saturday morning 11am-12.30- a great place to visit if you are a foodie or love little crafts. Lots of fabulous food to buy all fresh and homemade. Or pick up a little handmade craft for that personal touch!
Festivals Nearby

Ramelton Festival
Takes place on the 2nd week of July every year, lots of fun to be had with arts, crafts, treasure hunts, bands, a lovely parade and all finished up with a not-to-be-missed fireworks display at the quay!

Rathmullan Festival
Takes place on the ROI bank holiday weekend ( the first weekend in August) every year. Lots to do and see with music on stage all evening and a parade to finish.

Rathmullan Film Festival
Takes place the middle of February every year- check out their facebook page for more details of events happening.

Lough Swilly Ferry
Runs during the summer months from Rathmullan across to Buncrana. Both car and foot passengers onboard. Check out facebook for the up to date timetable.
Letterkenny St. Patricks Day Parade- obviously held on the 17th March every year! A great event and an exciting day out for all the family.

Ramelton Christmas Lights
The ‘switch on’ normally takes place at the start of December so ask around if you are here for this! It really is fab, our little town pulls out all the stops and works tirelessly to make the village look its very best.

Coke-a-cola Lorry
Visits for the switch on and also the weekend before Christmas and is all lit up to replicate that famous Christmas ad! It also has a very special passenger to greet all the children on the nights!
Sporting Events

Donegal International Rally
Takes place in late June every year and is a very popular event with lots of people coming to the county specifically to follow this sport! A great weekends craic with happening locally!
